USAF Thunderbirds to perform at the
2003 McChord Air Expo.

The Air Force's premier aerial demonstration team, the United States Air Force  "Thunderbirds"  will take to the skies over McChord Air Force Base as part of the installations semi-annual  "Air Expo" to be held on July 13.

The Air Expo will be the public debut for the Museums freshly painted C-124 Globemaster II,  which was recently completed after weeks of hard work by members from McChord's  62nd AW (pictures and information covering the painting project will soon be posted on the Aircraft restoration page.) Foundation Restoration crews will also roll out the their newly acquired F-102 Delta Dagger Interceptor and the museums B-18 Bolo Bomber which are both under  restoration by Foundation Volunteers. Restoration Crews from the B-18, F-102, and F-106 Delta Dart will be available for questions and information about their restoration projects.

During the Expo visitors will get a rare chance to "come aboard" three Museum aircraft,  our C-124, C-141 (the “Tacoma Starlifter”, McChord's first assigned C-141) and B-18 pre WWII era Bomber. Museum souvenirs will be available at the Air Expo from the Foundations Tower Gift Store Booth, proceeds  from these sales will fund various ongoing projects currently in work by Foundation Volunteers at the McChord Air Museum.

Hope to see you there!
